The camera is on an old Coast Guard light tower, located 32 miles off the coast of southeastern North Carolina. Current conditions show the American flag at the site taking a beating as the winds pickup ahead of the hurricane's projected landfall sometime late tonight or tomorrow.

The camera view comes from the tower's helipad, located about 100 feet above the water.

The Frying Pan Tower is a lighthouse established in 1964 by the U.S. Coast Guard. It was originally built to warn ships of the shallow waters, called the Frying Pan Shoals, nearby. The lighthouse is only accessible by boat or helicopter.
Very eerie live cam capture of the American Flag being shredded apart by POWERFUL hurricane force winds in Cape Fear
